It's a full-service distillery for those looking to create small-batch spirits, taking a beverage from concept to shelf—without having to build a distillery of their own. The company has everything a customer might need to create a spirit: Matchbook mills New York-grown grains and has an apothecary wall featuring hundreds of straight botanical distillates, as well as key equipment like fermenters (10 of them), and custom-made hybrid stills that can be customized depending on what and how much is being produced—whether it’s rum, whiskey, gin, brandy, or any other spirit.

Lieb owns the largest contiguous plot of Pinot Blanc in the US. With the guiding hand of veteran winemaker Russell Hearn, the 35 year-old vines have produced nationally recognized and award-winning wines. Other standouts include their Sparkling Rosé, lightly oaked Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

The tasting room is housed in a converted barn on a picturesque farm vineyard. It’s off the beaten path on Oregon Road, hailed one of the most beautiful farm roads in America. Few experiences can match sipping an elegant wine and snacking on their well-curated cheese boards while watching, what’s boasted as, the best sunset view on Long Island. Pro tip: snag a spot by one of their fire pits in the fall.

Bedell Cellars

Kip and Susan Bedell planted their first grapevines here in 1980, with Kip earning the moniker “Mr. Merlot” in Wine Spectator magazine. In 2000, bedell Cellars was sold to the Lynne family. Today, Bedell stands at the forefront of creativity and excellence in the modern American wine industry and is widely regarded as the benchmark winery in the Eastern US.

This 38-year-old vineyard is a great example of what the North Fork has to offer. Having garnered numerous features in Wine Spectator, this vineyard’s wines are clearly worth a taste on quality alone. Swing by the 1919 Cutchogue barn that houses its tasting room to sample a few glasses — while checking out the series with labels by local artists — and you’ll get what all the fuss is about.
